Hallo zusammen!
bevor es nun dann wirklich aber losgeht hier noch einmal ein paar Infos zur Strecke, die wir zurücklegen wollen. Vorab jedoch, muss man sagen, dass wir ja nicht blöd waren und Flensburg als Startpunkt definiert haben, denn mit den Brettern den Berg hinauf, wer will das schon?
Die Strecke hat lt. GoogleMaps Routenplaner eine Gesamtlänge von ca. 1211 km, vorausgesetzt man hält sich an Hauptverkehrswege und Autobahnen. Darüber hinaus wäre es ein Leichtes, diese Strecke mit dem PKW lt. Berechnung in 12h und 4min zurück zu legen. Alternativ kann diese Strecke auch ohne Autobahnen gemeistert werden. Hierbei kämen wir auf ca. 1252 km, jedoch wäre man theoretisch 22h und 41min mit dem PKW unterwegs. Naja, zum Glück haben wir 3 Wochen Zeit!
Die groben Wegpunkte unserer Reise sind auf jeden Fall Garmisch als Startpunkt, dann München, weiter gehts über Nürnberg, oder viel mehr Lauf a.d. Pegnitz, wo wir bereits mit offenen Armen von den Leuten von Arbor Longboards erwartet werden (Danke, Gregor!), dann durch die Fränkische Schweiz in Richtung Fichtelgebirge. Sollten wir das jemals überwinden, gehts weiter nach Dresden, in die Elbmetropole, von dort aus durch Lausitz und Spreewald ins dicke „B“ an der Spree.
In Berlin werden wir vielleicht ein bis zwei Tage rasten, Rollen wechseln, Kugellager fetten, Bier trinken und starten dann weiter durch die Mecklenburgische Seenplatte in die Schweriner Gegend. Dann sind wir schon fast im flachen holsteiner Land…irgendo da war auch eine der Ratskrone Brauereien (Salzwedel?). Den Rest der Strecke gehts durchs grüne Flachland bis nach Flensburg, wo wir auf jeden Fall einen Sprung über die dänische Grenze machen werden. Wenns zeitlich passt, sollte das „Powerslave“ Konzert in Flens drin sein, wo wir zu Songs von „Iron Maiden“ unsere Mähnen schütteln können!
Der Rückweg ist noch etwas im Sinne der „???“, d.h. kein Plan, aber wird schon irgendwie passen. Ich hab da noch mal eine Karte reingepackt, so dass Ihr die Strecke noch mal sehen könnt! Soweit also dazu!

Hi everybody,
before we finally take off, here we go with a couple of facts and figures to the track that we are planning to take. Damn smartasses we are, defining Garmisch Partenkirchen as the starting point of our journey, cause seriously, who would wanna go uphill throughout the entire trip?
According to Googlemaps, the overall distance is approx. 1211km, given the fact we use the German autobahn and main transportation routes. Further, the distance can be mastered in about 12h and 4min by vehicle. Alternatively – not using the autobahn and main routes – the distance sums up to 1252km and could theoretically be done in 22h! Lucky us – we got 3 weeks time! 🙂
Roughly, one could say that the waypoints of our journey define Garmisch as the starting point, Munich – being one of the bigger spots to visit, and after that Nuremberg, or to be more precisely, Lauf a.d.Pegnitz as one of our destinations. We are very happy to have the guys from „Arbor Longboards“ expecting us there (Thanks Gregor!). Once we haver recharged our batteries, we will be challenging the Fichtelgebirge, a lower mountain range in the middle of Germany, in order reach our next destination, Dresden. From Dresden we will go through the forests of the Lausitz – watch out, shitload of ticks ‚round that area – to hit our capital city – Berlin.
We might want to stay for a day or two, to meet with friends, get our gear in shape and a have couple of beers, while enjoying the European Championship, before we take off through one of the most scenic areas in Germany, the „Mecklenburgische Seenplatte“. In case we are lucky, we might even go through Salzwedel, which is- according to internet research – one of the spots where our most favorite brew „Ratskrone Pilsner“ is bottled!
Soon after that, we shall be reaching „Holstein“ – flat, green land – until we come to Flensburg in the very north of Germany. Of course we will cross the Danish border, just to make sure our neighbors are okay up there! In case we are lucky and on time, we might join the „Powerslave“ concert in Flensburg and have a descent arrival party in the north.
Our way back is pretty much open, however, still subject to our journey rules to either hitchhike or go by longboard! No trains, buses, plaines, etc. Right on!
